My first series of darkroom prints, "Ishtulpa" is a seven-image series examining persona and inner turmoil through the lens of a mirror. I arranged the series as a visual palindrome. Our subject, looking to her left, undergoes introspection on a serious personal issue. Halfway through her pondering, she sees her "other self" reflected back at her, and ultimately makes up her mind.
Shot on 35mm HP5, developed by the artist, printed by the artist in the darkroom on Ilford Multigrade RC Pearl paper.
